How to Identify Snakes

This chapter presents some hints that I hope will help the non-herpetologist in identifying
snake species indigenous to South Carolina. Since South Carolina shares many
species with the remainder of the country, I think the information will also be
useful to persons in other states, especially the rest of the Southeast and Eastern US.
This entire chapter is new and still under development.
I hope users will email me their comments. Gene Ott
